Teacher Mentor

Peer Mentoring

Peer mentoring is an interesting concept used in public and private education – the idea that a more senior teacher offers feedback to less experienced teachers for the purpose of improving teaching performance. In larger dance institutions, this practice is often employed for several reasons.

  • To ensure a cohesive curriculum
  • To train better teachers
  • To determine best practices

I have spent much of my teaching career learning by trial and error without the help of a master teacher. And it’s for that reason that I like to now offer this.

The details of this arrangement are worked out between the teachers involved. The format is based on me observing a class taught by a teacher followed by dialogue afterward. The goals we set and the objectives we meet are completely determined by the outcomes we plan on achieving.
